FAQ’s - A GUIDE TO BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF ORGANIC PRODUCTS

1. WHAT IS CLASSIFIED AS AN ORGANIC PRODUCE?
A crop or a grain harvested through a natural process of cultivation is classified as organic.

2. WHAT IS CERTIFIED ORGANIC?
Any produce harvested from a certified agricultural land or farm is deemed to be certified organic.

3. ARE CROPS NOT CERTIFIED INDIVIDUALLY?
No, since arable lands are supportive or conducive to grow more than one or multiple crops, only the process of organic cultivation is certified.

4. IS IT POSSIBLE TO GROW CROPS NATURALLY WITHOUT THE INFLUENCE OF CHEMICALS?
Yes, most definitely! Farming until recently did not involve the addition of chemicals, fertilizers and pesticides.

5. ARE THERE ANY CHALLENGES GROWING CROPS ORGANICALLY?
Yes, there are a few challenges in the initial stages when adopting or transitioning to traditional organic farming practise. A lot depends on how the farmer or a farming system adopts to the various climatic changes and the behaviour of the soil under these conditions.

6. WHY SHOULD I MAKE A LIFESTYLE CORRECTION AND TRANSITION TO AN ORGANIC LIFESTYLE?
Good we eat has a direct impact on our overall health and well-being, also impacting our thoughts and actions. Clean air, water and food are necessary for the human race to better evolve and this action of consuming unadulterated food will have a visible impact on the next generation.

7. WHAT ARE THE VISIBLE CHANGES THAT I CAN EXPERIENCE BY SWITCHING TO ORGANIC FOOD?
Should you sustain the effort, over a period you would notice improved taste and aroma of such produce. In addition, the conversion of energy is faster and optimal and significantly improves the overall digestion process.

8. CAN I PARTLY BE AN ORGANIC CONSUMER?
The benefits of eating select items or products labelled organic have no real benefit.

9. HOW DO I TRUST THE PRODUCT TO BE ORGANIC?
Your choice of seller and their credentials should be the first step, do your research. There is no quick fix formula to create trust, however sticking to organic food brands and gaining their trust does happen over time. Until such time you are convinced and feel the difference, continue with a brand or seller who is committed to the cause and is trustworthy.

10. IS THER ANY VISIBILE DIFFERENCE IN ORGANIC PRODUCE?
Organic produce is generally dull in colour, has a shorter shelf-life and does differ in pricing from non-organic produce.

11. WHY ARE ORGANIC PRODUCTS PRICED HIGHER OR PERCEIVED TO BE MORE EXPENSIVE?
The global contribution or share of organic agriculture is a very meagre percentage of the market requirement. Reliable organic farmers are limited and located in geographies that cause logistical challenges. The related costs of organic farming from seeding until harvest are multiple.

12. SHOULD I SPEND MORE OR BUDGET MY ORGANIC REQUIREMENTS?
A matter of mechanics, a well-maintained car runs longer and requires fewer visits to the garage! The engine of your body depends on what you feed it, you pay a small percentage more to feed it well and it saves you a whole lot more on medical bills averted.

13. SHOULD I CONSTANTLY MONITOR THE DETERIORATION OF ORGANIC GRAINS AT HOME?
In general, all organic produce have a shorter shelf-life. Barring fruits and vegetables - all grains, flours and starches can last on the shelf for a minimum of 45 to 90 days. Transferring contents into an airtight container, keeping the zip lock covers fully sealed after dispensing, storing under dry, even temperatures and restricting moisture (using wet utensils or hands) to influence the surface of the stored grain would help in achieving a higher product shelf-life. It is advised not to store your organic grocery and staples beyond 90 days.

14. IS THE DELIVERY CHARGEABLE OR FREE?
All delivery will be charged extra at actuals. Our delivery policy varies between products based on the delivery distance and the package size.

15. PACKAGING SAFETY
Each delivery package is given utmost care to prevent transportation related damages. However, we are unable to take any responsibility for such damages caused by external logistics partners, aggregators and operators.

16. RETURNS POLICY
We individually quality check and examine all the products ordered including the exterior packaging prior to shipping. Being perishable commodities, we do not have a replacement policy in place. Our customers can write to us at ask@sunagro.in with supportive documentation for any shipment found to be tampered with at the time of delivery and we will take necessary action on a case-to-case basis.
